Copyright & DMCA policy

Report content on CheckedOut that uses your work without permission.

Last updated: October 18, 2026 · This policy is part of the Terms of Service.

1. Our approach

People on CheckedOut upload photos, listing descriptions, guides, profiles and messages. They must own that content or have permission to use it (Terms §8). If something here uses your work without permission, tell us and we will act on it promptly. We remove or disable access to content when we receive a complete notice, and we close the accounts of people who infringe repeatedly.

2. How to report content

Send a written notice to our copyright agent (below) that includes:

  • your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or someone authorized to act for them;
  • a description of the work you say is being infringed;
  • where the material is on CheckedOut — the page address (URL) or enough detail for us to find it;
  • your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
  • a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

A notice that knowingly misstates that material is infringing can make the sender liable for damages. If you aren't sure your rights are infringed, consider asking a lawyer first.

3. Copyright agent

Copyright Agent, CheckedOut

Email: support@trycheckedout.com

Please use the subject line "Copyright notice". This address is for copyright matters only; for anything else, see Help.

4. If your content was removed

We tell the person who posted the content when we remove it, with a copy of the notice (minus personal details where the law allows). If you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentified, you may send a counter-notice to the same agent with: your physical or electronic signature; the material removed and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and telephone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the United States, any judicial district in which CheckedOut may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the notice. Unless the sender tells us they have filed a court action, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after we receive a complete counter-notice.

5. Canada

Copyright owners in Canada may also send a notice of claimed infringement under the Copyright Act's notice-and-notice rules. We forward it to the person concerned as the law requires and act on the content under this policy.

6. Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of people who are the subject of repeated valid notices, and we may remove any content that breaks our Terms, whether or not we receive a notice.
