The same rates apply whether the host found the professional on CheckedOut or brought them in. Card processing is always included in these fees, and so are applicable sales taxes (GST/HST) — nothing is added on top.

- Your own team is paid however you pay them now (e-transfer, payroll) — no fee, and they don’t need a Stripe account. They can choose to be paid through CheckedOut instead.
- Pro starts with a free month (card required) and renews monthly, billed on the active listings at the start of each month; listings archived, deleted or added mid-month are prorated to the cent. Stop it any time in Settings → Plan — the unused part of the month is refunded.
- Pros you hire on CheckedOut are paid through CheckedOut, with the service & payment fee.
- Pros you found on CheckedOut are paid through CheckedOut for their first 12 months, on every plan, or after a one-time $199 conversion fee.
- A pro who chooses to be paid outside CheckedOut by a team leaves the marketplace. Coming back is up to CheckedOut support.

Questions people actually ask
When am I charged as a host?
When you approve finished work: your card is charged the pro’s price plus the 8%, minimum $5 fee, itemized on a numbered invoice. Per-job work you haven’t reviewed is approved and charged automatically 72 hours after the pro sends it. Your own team is paid per pay period instead, from the timesheet you approve. Cancelling a booked pro within 24 hours of the start costs half the job; moving the job costs nothing, but a move doesn’t reset that window.
What does the service & payment fee cover?
Card processing, payouts, scheduling, photo-proof evidence tools, support, dispute handling and marketplace protection. Processing and GST/HST are included — never itemized on top.
What do professionals pay?
A 3% card & payout fee, deducted only when a job paid through CheckedOut completes — you keep 97% and your payout statement itemizes it.
Is it cheaper to bring my own pro?
Every job paid through CheckedOut has the same 8%, minimum $5 fee, whoever found the pro. What your own team gets is the tools: the schedule, checklists, guides and time clock. On every plan you can pay pros you brought yourself outside CheckedOut, fee-free.
Is there a free trial?
Yes: your first month of Pro is free, with as many properties as you run — a card is required to start it. After it, Pro renews monthly at $8 per property a month for the first 10, then $6 (USD, taxes included), billed on the active listings at the start of each month; listings added, archived or deleted mid-month are prorated to the cent. A month that starts with 3 or fewer is free, and you can stop Pro any time in Settings → Plan. Every tool stays free for up to 3 properties.
Can I pay pros outside CheckedOut?
Yes, on every plan, for pros you brought yourself. Pros you found on CheckedOut are paid through CheckedOut for their first 12 months on every plan, or after a one-time $199 conversion fee. Reviews, damage claims and payment protection cover only jobs paid through CheckedOut. Arranging payment outside CheckedOut to avoid fees breaks our terms and can get an account closed.
